Meet the Team

Tabitha brings twenty five years of conflict resolution experience to a mediation practice that is driven by the energy to facilitate a resolution, curiosity to understand the circumstances of a dispute, dedication to listen (and if necessary to challenge participants) and a knowledge of the insurance market gained from work as a practicing lawyer, and an insurance claims manager.
Tabitha has worked in conflict, resolution and post-conflict arenas since completing a Masters in International Peace and Security in 2000. She worked as an election monitor in Kosovo in October 2000 and subsequently took part in a further 11 short- term international election observation missions. She then qualified as a solicitor, representing claimants with catastrophic injuries, at the UK’s leading claimant litigation firm. She moved into the insurance market as a civil and commercial claims manager (primarily in political risk, trade credit and aviation amongst other classes of business) before leaving the market, and committing to a career in mediation from 2020. She has seen that when participants are prepared to engage in managed, confidential conversations, the resolution of any conflict is possible.
Her knowledge of the insurance market is extensive and strengthened by having represented both claimants to the insurance market, and claims management within it. She has worked through tough settlements with patience, flexibility and an ability to learn every relevant fact, and to see the landscape from every angle possible. She has experience of the many dynamics that impact decision-making of insurers, reinsurers and insureds. Above all she recognises that a resolution determined by participants in a dispute can produce a more positive long-term outcome than a court judgment in which those most impacted have no say.
She works in civil, commercial and workplace mediation. Since April 2021 she has regularly participated as a training coach for the CMC accredited London School of Mediation course. Since November 2024 she has been a panel member for Global Mediation Ltd where she frequently accepts mediations for SEND disputes.
